We spent one evening in Carcassonne, well known castle system. I liked it and enjoyed walking through it. Only few tourists, nice difference compared to overcrowded day there.

Week 33 - Reflection

There are two shop in the centre of Prague where you can buy old cameras - Jan Pazdera is one of them. Very often, people are watching into the shop window, admiring these wonderful machines.

Week 32 - Behind bush

Close to Wenceslas square, in the middle of Prague, there is very nice and calm place - Franciscan Garden. You can find sunny places as well as benches in the shade. I liked this headshots, their positions behind bush.

Week 30 - She found me

Waiting few minutes in front of my office, I tried to catch my colleague leaving the building. We were supposed to meet there, I stood about 15 metres away, not to be seen immediately. She left the door, looking around ... and finally found me.

Week 29 - Boys on the curb

Being on a trip in the city during this summer might be very exhaustive. Yesterday, it was about 30 degrees and having no possibility to hide before the sun, in the area where almost no trees can give you a shade ... you can imagine. These guys were relaxing on the curb, I just waited until they turned heads toward me.

Week 28 - Family on a trip

Parents and 3 children... Prague is full of tourists all the year. Wenceslas square especially.

Week 27 - Western city

We (my daughter and me) visited western city Sikluv mlyn last week. Most of visitors were somehow adapted to it. Dress from Old West or cowboy hat at least.

Week 25 - Model

This week, I participated in one-day photo course organized by Olympus. The course was focus on portrait photography and light (and of course showing all the Olympus lenses and cameras :-). We tried both inside and outside portraits. I must admit that enclosed photo is arranged however I like it and can be perceived as street at least partially.

Week 24 - The train

Another day ended by commuting. Close to Usti, passengers were waiting for arrival - as it was too hot and trains are old and without air condition, opened windows provided us a bit of fresh air.

Week 22 - Dark in the tunnel

I like street photos of Thomas Leuthard. He is well known among the community. His last works accent dark silhouettes in light background. So I tried similar approach in this photo.

Week 21 - Beer festival

Beer festival took place yesterday in Usti. Plenty of people, walking, listen to music and of course ... sitting and drinking beer.

Week 20 - Memory of Nation

Wenceslas square presents outdoor exhibition Memory of Nation, reminding 70 years after the end of World war II. I took this picture against sun rays thus some reflections appear in it.

I must admit that the day wasn't as bright as it seems from the picture. However my imagination saw it this way.

Week 17 - Among tourists

It was simple to take this photo. I saw group of Asian tourists on Wenceslas square going in my direction. So I just stood in the middle of the sidewalk and waited for them. They flew around me like water around the stone and I got close to them as you can see.

Week 16 - Dirty place

I don't understand why some people are throwing unwanted and broken things anywhere on the street. As this chair. So I waited for someone passing it, to make the picture less boring and more interesting. Thus you can see a lady in the background.

Week 15 - Crosswalk

Cloudy weather almost all working week - it didn't help to make my mood better. Until Thurday when sun appeared among clouds. I skipped my lunch and spent all lunch break making street photos. Here is one from this photo session.

Week 14 - Looking out the window

Again, one photo from my commuting home. There is very nice landscape between Lovosice and Usti nad Labem - river is on both sides surrounded by hills. Much nicier in spring when trees started to be green. But also this Thursday, looking out the window was interesting as the sun peeked out from behind the clouds.

Week 13 - Push the door, push the cart

Double view on push - young lady is pushing the cart towards doors that has to be pushed to open them (which is visible from the table back behind two girls in black).

Week 12 - Still and in motion

Prague, main train station. Statue of a man with two children is standing motionless on the first platform. I waited for a train on departure, knowing that some people will hurry to catch it.

Week 11 - Smiling No

This week I selected a photo of my friend. We were waiting in front of our office for another colleague. I had the camera in right hand and from time to time I took a photo of a stranger as usually. Surprisingly, I changed my focus on him. And this is his gesture - rejection with smile.

Week 10 - Memories (Wenceslas Square, Prague, 1985)

One phenomenon of the "Normalization" period under Soviet occupation were so-called "Book Thursdays", because the Communist central planners decided that all books were to be published on Thursday. People queued for books and books became a corruption currency, because very few genuinely interesting titles were published. If the title was interesting, there was usually an insufficient amount of copies printed.

Week 8 - I will not interfere

Photographing with wideangle lenses is a bit tricky. People very often don't realize that they are in the viewfinder. So the two closest persons in this picture. Both didn't want to interfere and therefore they lowered their head.

Week 7 - Street artist

I spent some time at the Charles bridge in Prague on Wednesday. This sighseeing is full of tourists every day, every time. So I was a bit surprised that I needn't make my way through this evening. Anyway, residue of tourists crowds filled in by street artists were still present - and this photo is snap of it.

Week 5 - Man with the Iphone

I commute every day, in half of the cases by train (and in half of the cases by car). It is typical that most passengers are reading. And it is typical for the present that most of them do not have paper books or journals but phones, tablets, notebooks or e-books. It is a bit sad because I like how books smell sweet, how papers rustle. But time is moving. I read books from my mobile phone as well.

Week 4 - Archway

Every week, at least once, I obligatory have to visit Fotoškoda shop in Prague. Its close to my work and getting back from lunch, I really enjoy the view of the cameras and lenses, new ones as well as old ones. To get out of this shop, you have to go through archway, hidden in dark. And at its end there is sunny looking out.
